Dressing an infant can be fun. Perhaps you have a drawer full of onesies with slogans such as: “Diaper loading. Please wait.” Hilarious. But it can be tricky at times, too. We’ve got some clever solutions to some common baby clothing challenges.
Cut the feet off. You’ll get at least an extra month or so out of them. I’m about to do this with a few pairs my infant is barely fitting into. It’s summer and everyone wants to see those baby toes, anyway.
Cut the “flaps” off to make it a T-shirt. Then you can leave it as is, or use iron-on hem tape or a sewing machine to finish the seam.
Get some puffy paint and make “grippers” on the bottom of their socks, footed pants or footie PJs. You’ll be saving them from many future face-plants.
Put their zip-up pajamas on backwards (so that the tag is in the front). They probably won’t notice the difference and you’ll no longer have a fully exposed baby running through your hallways. Alternately, you can put a T-shirt over their pajamas.
Take the onesie off by pulling it down instead of over their head. Because of those smart little envelope folds, your baby’s face and hair will stay out of the mess. Mind-blowing, right?
